A Global Collaboration to Restore Ecosystems and Support Community Well-being

MyFarmTrees enables traceability, monitoring, and incentive payments for restoration activities—from seed collection and nursery establishment to tree planting—using mobile technology and blockchain.

The workshop included field visits in Siaya County and provided the chance to engage with farmers and county representatives. These interactions highlighted how digital workflows can strengthen restoration efforts. During the workshop, the team also introduced the ERIP program and explored areas of potential alignment.

Learning about the tool sparked ideas for how MyFarmTrees could support ERIP projects, while also highlighting potential challenges for integrating digital workflows into community-based restoration. Farmers and local teams shared encouraging reflections on how direct incentives are already improving livelihoods and motivating long-term engagement in restoration.

The experience provided valuable insights, surfaced meaningful challenges, and inspired new opportunities to connect restoration practice with digital innovation. For more information about the tool, visit My Farm Trees.
