Viet Nam Launches ERIP National Project
In May 2026, Viet Nam organized its inception workshop marking the official launch of their Ecosystem Restoration Integrated Program (ERIP) national project. The event opened with remarks from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the Global Environment Facility (GEF), followed by a presentation from the ERIP Global Coordination Project, which positioned Viet Nam within the broader global program.
Sessions focused on national priorities, including water resource management, biodiversity, and ecosystem health, while also addressing challenges and solutions at both national and provincial levels. Discussions emphasized the role of nature-based solutions and landscape restoration in strengthening water security and supporting resilient livelihoods.
The workshop also provided an opportunity to present core elements of project implementation, including the results framework and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plan, as well as the Gender Action Plan, stakeholder engagement approach, and communication strategy—ensuring alignment on both technical and cross-cutting priorities.
As part of ERIP, Viet Nam will benefit from peer learning and global expertise while contributing its own experience to advancing large-scale ecosystem restoration at national and global levels.
